How about you just have an online poker club? Like you all meet online, that way you don’t need to ask permissions and such. And for your practices on strategies and odds, you can make your own room and everybody plays and interacts there. You can have your room in an online poker site like http://www.blindhit.com.

I have a feeling you will have an uphill battle. To those unfamiliar with poker, they will see it more as gambling then a game of skill. Since gambling has an age limit in most places (18 or 21) it probably would not get approved for an official club at the school.

Suggestions –

Take your club off-campus, just like other group activities that are not related to the school.

A little deceitful would be to start a Statistics and Probability Club

Better yet would be a club on Game Theory….Could cover various games with poker being one of them.

Have Fun!
