Texas congressman says online poker could ease budget woes
A Texas lawmaker wants to bet on online poker to help balance the state’s budget. U.S. Congressman Joe Barton, R-Arlington, said his bill would let states choose whether or not to let residents play poker for money on the Internet. Barton said it is estimated online poker could be a six billion dollar industry. Current law forbids financial institutions from processing gambling payments.
